SYDNEY James Hurst Youth Jersey , Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Australian New South Wales (NSW) Police confirmed on Sunday that six people have been killed after a seaplane crashed into Jerusalem Bay near the town of Cowan, north of Sydney.

The Sydney Seaplanes aircraft, carrying a pilot and five passengers, crashed at about 3:15 p.m. local time and a search and rescue operation was launched to locate the aircraft which is believed to be submerged.

Debris and an oil slick have been found on the surface of water.

NSW Police confirmed all six bodies had been recovered by about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. There are unconfirmed reports that those on board were four British nationals, an 11-year-old boy and the pilot.

According to local media reports, the seaplane was returning a party of five people from a restaurant to Rose Bay in Sydney's east when it crashed into the water.

"We don't know why the plane crashed," Commander of the Kurung-Gai Local Area Command, Acting Superintendent Michael Gorman, told reporters.

Sydney Seaplanes confirmed that an incident had occurred with a plane believed to belong to the company. Sydney Seaplanes offers scenic flights over Sydney tourist attractions and waterways including the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and Pittwater, as well as the Hawkesbury River region.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the incident and release a preliminary report in approximately 30 days, with a final report expected to take up to 12 months.

Foxconn Technology Group confirmed Thursday some 20 employees were still on strike at its Chongqing plant in Southwest China, after around 1,000 striking employees returned to work following discussions on Wednesday.

A labor group said workers went on strike to demand higher wages.

"A small group of 20 employees at that same facility carried out a similar labor action earlier today, and we are working with the labor union and the employees to resolve this matter," Foxconn, a contract electronics manufacturer for multinational companies such as Apple Inc and Hewlett-Packard (HP), said in a statement e-mailed to the Global Times on Thursday.

US-based labor watchdog China Labor Watch (CLW) said Wednesday that workers demonstrated holding banners including one that read, "We aren't robots. We need to eat and feed our family."

The employees returned to work approximately four hours later on Wednesday following discussions and agreements between the employees, representatives from the labor union, and management of the employees' business group, Foxconn said, noting that production at its Chongqing campus had not been affected by the action.

Foxconn did not specify the reasons for the strike. According to CLW, the company has significantly reduced workers' overtime hours because of lower production orders from HP at the Chongqing plant.

A large portion of Foxconn workers' wages comes from overtime pay, and without lots of overtime, take-home pay for workers rarely meets a living wage standard, CLW noted.

The strike is the second of its kind this year at Foxconn's Chongqing plant, which was put into operation in 2010 for mainly producing laptops, related to a reduction in HP orders. In June, about 800 workers at the plant went on a three-day strike to demand proper severance package.

HP did not response to queries from the Global Times on Thursday. The US firm announced Monday that it will split into two companies, with one focused on PCs and printers and the other conducting corporate hardware and services business.

"There is no direct connection between the split-up and the strike. The business prospect for PCs is not optimistic, and HP is adjusting its strategy in accordance with market demand," Wang Jiping, a senior analyst at research firm IDC, told the Global Times Thursday.

Worldwide PC shipments declined 0.5 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2014. In Asia-Pacific, PC shipments fell 5.3 percent from a year earlier, according to preliminary results released by IT consultancy Gartner on Wednesday.

But HP remained the world's second-largest PC maker, following Chinese rival Lenovo, with 14.2 million worldwide shipments in the third quarter of this year, up 4.4 percent year-on-year, according to Gartner. "The growth was mainly driven by demand in the US and Europe," Wang noted.

KINGSTON, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The decision to fly the rainbow flag at the United States' embassy following the Orlando gay nightclub massacre has drawn huge fire from Jamaica's Attorney General Marlene Malahoo-Forte.

After the tragedy that left 49 dead and 53 injured on Sunday, the United States decided to let their embassies "across the globe" to fly rainbow flags "in solidarity with the victims who were targeted for being members of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community."
